Posted by. And yeah Twirling Spire is my favorite polearm stace right now. It's the most recent Polearm stance and people even try to sell it for relatively high. denotes weapon with matching Stance polarity

Adding slams and forced procs to already high ranged spins and attacks is devastating when used correctly and adds lots of building options to boot.

I think new polearm stance is the exact reason they're putting the sydon in there.

An awkward gaming system (lack of aiming with melee) shouldn't be excused just because somehow the stance's powerful, at least in my opinion. This makes it good for such functions as Orthos Prime's radial blast procs on slam, the Zaw's access to such arcanes as Exodia Hunt (which at max rank has a 50% chance on slam to suck in enemies within 12m and stagger them, opening them to Counterattack Finishers (the REAL finishers, not like ground finishers)), or Hydroid's passive of a 50% to spawn up tentacles (which benefit from his Pilfering Swarm augment) with a limit of 3. I think it is important to note that Twirling Spire is a status stance, with an emphasis on CC. To point back to my OP, one of my biggest gripe is worth noting as well that melee generally has a “ramp up” time, for combo multipliers to raise up, and procs to build up for CO etc, weapons like Tigris prime just offer outright instant burst damage which is also a major bonus for ranged weapons.

I noticed that the general idea was that Bleeding Willow was slightly better for the more combos and the general more fluidity it has over Shimmering Blight.But what about Twirling Spire? Build . The current stances (Bleeding Willow, Shimmering Blight, "stabby-stanceless") have so few moves that they could be nicely merged into a single, glorious stance for double-ended polearms.

twirling spire just feels horrible in comparison in my opinion, I immediately removed it after playing with it for a couple hours, it just doesn’t flow well with polearms imo.

It also doesn't feel appealing to spam EEE all the time, but maybe that's just me.

Nearly every other hit forces an Impact proc which'll stagger or knockback the enemy, and the forward combo even includes a forced slash proc. It's even less consistent with Heavy Gunners and Bombards (units you'd WANT to stun-lock), because their Radial Blast may trigger mid-stagger and still knock you, which can also negate your attempt at knocking them down with the slams if they're mid-animation.

Zaws were overbuffed IMO and with maiming and condition overload builds in the game now, any complaints about melee not measuring up to ranged are misplaced going forward. Most of what I suggested has to do with QoL, which in my opinion will only make the stance better without actually making it break the game more than it already does.

Im also not a fan of the lack of forward range of staff attacks, why is it that only Wukong gets legitimate staff martial arts? I care very little of the damage multiplier, and more about mobility + slightly larger hitbox radius during pokes.
